Accident Insurance offers camp directors and officers piece of mind because even with close personal supervision, accidents do happen.  For more than 60 years Markel has provided camp directors with affordable accident insurance to protect the camp owners and operators from the unexpected.

What Activities are covered?

An insured person will be covered for losses incurred while (1) under supervised travel sponsored by the camp, (2) attending camp, and (3) participating in any regularly scheduled and supervised camp activity.

Who is Eligible?

• All enrolled campers
• All camp counselors and directors
• All volunteers

Coverage is optional for directors, counselors, and volunteers.  No coverage is provided for dependents of staff members.

Accident Medical Expense Benefit

When a covered injury requires treatment, we will pay the usual and customary charges for medically necessary treatment incurred within 52 weeks after the date of the accident. 

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit

AD&D coverage provides a benefit for accidental death, as a direct result of an accident directly and independently of all other causes.  The loss must take place within 52 weeks after the accident occurred.

Sickness Benefit (Optional Benefit)

When a covered sickness requires treatment, we will pay the usual and customary charges for medically necessary treatment incurred within 52 weeks of the first medical treatment for that sickness.
